As a sustainable regenerative farm, Tony’s Family Farms uses a variety of organic practices to grow you the best produce you can find in Missouri:

• Companion planting for attracting pollinators
  • For example, parsley attracts butterflies and other pollinators.

• Companion planting natural pest-deterrents
  • We plant Marigolds and Basil in between all of our tomato plants to prevent pest intrusions. 
  • We plant chives near our kale, radishes, arugula and lettuce to repel deer and aphids. 
  • Onion repels worms, aphids & slugs. 
  • Sage repels moths, fleas and beetles. 
  • Rosemary repels cabbage worms, mosquitos & carrot flies

• If a crop is hit with a pest, we would rather pull the crop than use chemicals.

• We use cover crops in alternate years to remove pests and allow the nutrients in the soil to regenerate. We do not plant tomatoes in the same spot every year.
